Light Pruning

Pruning done with an arborist's understanding of how plants respond to cuts — improving structure, airflow, and long-term health, not just shape. TCIA-standard technique on every shrub and ornamental.

A well-maintained East Bay property with healthy, well-pruned plantings

Why Light Pruning Matters

A shrub that's never pruned gets dense and shaded on the inside, which is exactly where disease and pests take hold. Cutting out dead and weak wood opens the plant back up to light and air, and the right cuts at the right time push new growth where you actually want it.

An Arborist's Eye for Every Cut

Because our team is led by a college-trained arborist, every cut is made with an understanding of how the specific plant responds to it. We remove only what's necessary to stimulate healthy regrowth, using battery-powered tools wherever possible. We prune in Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, and Danville — the wooded, shaded lots common in the Lamorinda hill towns benefit most from a structural approach that improves airflow.

How It Works

01

Assessment

We evaluate each plant's structure, health, and growth pattern before making a cut.

02

Precision Cuts

Targeted pruning that improves structure while minimizing stress on the plant.

03

Cleanup & Disposal

All cuttings and debris are collected and hauled off, leaving beds tidy.

04

Seasonal Follow-Up

We recommend timing for future pruning based on how each plant responds.
